Marketing strategy including social media advice and two campaigns with a range of outcomes for Pōpopo Wormporium
The creative direction for this project was centred around organic textures and scrapbooks, drawing inspiration from organic material processed every day by the stars of the show - Pōpopo’s worms. I explored various manual techniques early in the project, ultimately choosing a primarily digital approach that mimicked a paper cutout aesthetic while offering the flexibility of digital work.
I enhanced the existing brand by creating a new worm mascot to increase brand recognition and place the worms front and centre. The concept of the worms acting as “unsung heroes” came early on and shaped much of the project’s tone of voice. While worms can be off-putting to some, it’s important to recognise the important role they’re playing to help us be more sustainable on campus.
I hope this project inspires the community to engage with sustainability practices on campus and at home.
Final student project at Otago Polytechnic, part of Debrief 2024.
